I love my Magic Smoothie. It’s full of live food and bloat-busting fiber and is a great way to start the day. It’s an outstanding alternative to breakfast cereal that’s been sitting in a box for months or pancakes or muffins that are broken down into pure sugar resulting in excess gas production, weight gain, and inflammation. With the added psyllium, it’s also a healthy way to curb your appetite if you’re trying to lose weight. I recommend having this often, for breakfast in the morning or as a snack later in the day. Here’s the recipe:
In a blender bowl, combine:
1 sliced ripe banana
2 cups mixed berries
1 cup raw spinach, kale, collards, or chard
1 tablespoon ground psyllium husk*
1 tablespoon ground flax seed
1 cup crushed ice
1 cup of almond milk, coconut milk, or coconut water
Blend well and drink immediately. Makes 2 large servings.
